FLUXXY, the feminine-masculine-plural of fluxus, is a muted choreography of contemporary flux, a hypersensitive desire to grow with the breath of others. The abstraction of forms does not exclude the artists' commitment to reality.
Duan Zhao and Anne Sarah Le Meur set the stage for the surpassing of their bodies in the construction of soft, floating visual sensations. Pauline Bazignan's paintings on the edge of the immaterial reveal the trace of an undulatory flow that carries us out of the frame. In a call to diffuse the world's energies, Julie Navarro patiently apprehends the nature of the matter - pigments, oil, ink - that diffracts; she transforms it into luminous currents and light vapors. Stephen Maas seizes on the fragile movement of colored forms to play with material instability, on the verge of reversal. Guillaume Talbi's organic sculptures, grazed by light, liberate color as it makes its way through the powdery white opacity of texture.
